Unfortunately, there are not a whole lot of options when it comes to using twitter via a blackberry device. The main client that seemed to have the majority of the users was TwitterBerry. That name is used so often, that i think a lot of people just use it by default. However, I am here to tell you that a new product has arrived, and it is only in beta right now. ÜberTwitter is a great product that delivers a fully functional twitter client for the Blackberry. ÜberTwitter is not just another text based twitter updating client, it allows you to actually use twitter as twitter was intended.some of the features are:
- Integrated ability to upload pictures to a site dedicated to serving ÜberTwitter users
- Ability to optionally update your Google Talk status with your last tweet, making your tweets reach a wider audience then just people following you on Twitter
- Automatically update your location based on the cell tower information provided by your phone, no GPS hardware required, click here for an example
- Send videos embedded in your tweet
- See everyone who is tweeting near you
If you are interested in downloading the client, point your BlackBerry browser to http://www.ubertwitter.com/bb/download.php. The ÜberTwitter client supports BlackBerry devices running 4.2.1, 4.3, 4.5, 4.6, and 4.7.
